MACROLANE is a new breast augmentation method that uses hyaluronic acid injections to enlarge and improve the shape and firmness of breasts.

MACROLANE method was introduced in Poland at the beginning of 2008 but it had already been known in the world for several years.
Jacek Jarliński's AESTETICA Surgery Practice was one of the first in Poland to offer MACROLANE treatment to its patients.
The idea of using hyaluronic acid based products in plastic surgery is not entirely new. For many years it has been successfully
applied in face rejuvenation treatments, using it's facial cell volume recovering properties (lips augmentation, nasolabial folds filling,
lips recontouring). Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in human tissues. One of its properties is binding particles of
water and, thus, ensuring firmness and volume of the soft tissues. Artificially synthesized cross-linked hyaluronic acid based products allow
for fisk-free use of these properties and enhancement of skin volume and firmness by an adequate lift of flabby soft tissues.
Human body contains a natural system of enzymatic decomposition of hyaluronic acid which causes natural biodegradation and absorption of the
substance after a period of time. Duration of breast augmentation with MACROLANE is about 18 to 24 months.
How is the MACROLANE breast augmentation performed?
The MACROLANE breast augmentation treatment is a minimally invasive treatment. The procedure can be performed under topical anaesthesia and sedation.
General anaesthesia is not necessary. After careful planning and taking specific measures, small incisions are made on the skin (about 0.5cm) to insert
the cannula. Using it, the desired amount of the substance is injected under the mammary gland causing breast augmentation. In case of breast asymmetry,
the situation can be improved by injecting different volumes of the substance to each breast.
After the treatment is finished and dressings put on the patient can return home almost immediately. During the first week after the treatment physical activities
should be reduced and a slower pace of life recommended. Usually, however, the return to regular professional activities is possible after 2-3 days.
MACROLANE product does not replace the implants in breast surgery - it is, however, an addition to the range of products offered and creates the possibility to
select the best solution for breast augmentation.
Not every patient is suitable for such a treatment.
