PROCEDURE:

Deviated nasal septum surgery. Incisions are made inside the nose without leaving any external scars. The cartilage septum is shaped with intranasal packs which are removed after a couple of days.

STAY IN THE CLINIC:

Not required. Occasionally a single day of recovery in the clinic is recommended.

SIDE EFFECTS:

Swelling, discolouring, problems breathing.

POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS:

Postoperative bleeding. Extended nasal mucosa swelling. Nasal septum perforation as a result of deep scarring after an injury or as a result of accidental damage during the surgery.

RECOVERY:

  • Packs in the nose: 2-4 days.
  • Sticking plaster dressing on the nose: about 7-10 days.
  • Return to work: about 2 weeks.
  • Intensive activities, physical effort, bending: several weeks.
  • Swelling: about a month.
  • No exposure to direct sunlight: 8 weeks.

FINAL EFFECT DURATION:

Permanent.
