Abdominoplasty

PROCEDURE:

Abdominoplasty involves removing excess loose skin and fat as well as tightening abdominal muscles. It improves the look of abdominal contour which can be deformed following pregnancy or significant weight loss. The incision is made on the lower abdominal line and the scar can be concealed under a swimsuit or underwear. Gradually, the scar matures, becomes pale and imperceptible.

SIDE EFFECTS:

• Accumulation of lymphatic fluid.
• Excessive scarring.
• Infection.
• Thrombus and embolism.
• In rare cases - required surgery.

RECOVERY:

• Pressure garment worn for several weeks.
• Return to work: 2 - 4 weeks.
• Intensive activities: from 4-6 weeks to 8 weeks.
