Nose surgery (Rhinoplasty)

PROCEDURE:

Nose surgery involves changing the nose shape by reducing or augmenting it, removing the hump, refining the nasal bones and cartilage.
Incisions are made inside the nostrils which conceals any tracks of a surgery. No external scars are visible.
Occasionally, however, as a complementary surgery, it is necessary to perform small external incisions in order to correct or reduce the shape of the nasal alae. This leaves an imperceptible scar where the incision has been made.

General or local.

STAY IN THE CLINIC:

Recommended for one to two days.

SIDE EFFECTS:

• Discomfort caused by the swelling.
• Discolouring around the nose and eyes.
• Headache.
• The nose feels blocked.

POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS:

• Incomplete shape refinement - requires additional surgery.
• Infection.
• Dissatisfaction with one's appearance.

RECOVERY:

• Splint is applied for about 7-10 days.
• Return to work: about 2 weeks
• Intensive activities, physical effort, bending: several weeks.
• Swelling: about a month.
• No exposure to direct sunlight: 8 weeks.
• Final surgery effect: about a year (the swelling has subsided completely and the callus has stabilized).

FINAL EFFECT DURATION:

Permanent.
